On February 4, at the Kazan Kremlin, speaking at his meeting with a delegation of Czech business executives led by the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Miroslav Toman, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan and the Czech Republic have great potential for the development of cooperation in the field of agriculture.

“We appreciate our cooperation as part of Russian-Czech relations. Active work is underway in a number of areas. I am sure that the visit of such a representative delegation will contribute to strengthening ties between Tatarstan and the Czech Republic,” Minnikhanov emphasized.

In his turn, Toman told Tatarstan President about preliminary results of the visit of the Czech delegation to Tatarstan. The guests visited the Elita Breeding Enterprise, the Maisky Greenhouse Complex and Kazan State Agrarian University. Delegates also participated in the Tatarstan-Czech business forum. “I would like to thank you for the high level of organization of the visit. In our turn, we are ready to provide the necessary assistance for the development of cooperation between the Czech Republic and Tatarstan,” the Minister added.

Then, representatives of Czech companies told the meeting about the most attractive areas of cooperation with Tatarstan. In particular, the producer of alcoholic beverages from fruits “Liqui B Castle Fruit Distillery Blatna” is interested in purchasing fruit and berry raw materials from Tatarstan. Minnikhanov noted good opportunities for cooperation in this area and gave an errand to relevant specialists to look into the matter.

CBS, one of the largest Czech breeding companies, offered cooperation in raising cattle and pigs. “The competent organization of breeding is very important in agriculture. We will actively interact,” Tatarstan President emphasized.

Director General of MADETA Milan Teply told the meeting about the activities of the company. The MADETA is the largest milk processor in the Czech Republic. Processing volumes reach 900 thousand liters of milk per day. The company produces more than 250 items of dairy products supplied to 15 countries. Minnikhanov suggested that Teply should consider localizing production facilities in the republic. “Tatarstan ranks first in Russia in milk production. If you decide to do this, we are ready to support you,” he said.

The INTERLACTO announced the prospects for cooperation in the production of animal feed. The company exports products to China, the Middle East, Russia, the Balkans, South America and the EU. “We need to develop the feed production. Due to the systematic work with feeds, we can significantly increase productivity in the livestock sector,” Minnikhanov said.

At the end of the meeting, Tatarstan President thanked the Czech business executives for their attention to issues of cooperation with Tatarstan, adding that the republic will provide overall assistance in this matter.
