Rustam Minnikhanov holds a meeting on the implementation of promising projects in Innopolis

On March 11, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov and other officials were informed about projects to be implemented in Innopolis during their visit to a number of sites for construction of new facilities in the IT city, including a hotel complex, a multi-apartment housing and a new cultural and leisure centre.

Making comments, Director General of the Innopolis Special Economic Zone Renat Khalimov said that within three years it is planned to build a hotel complex with an area of 3.28 hectares using the investor’s own funds, an industrial park at the Innopolis Special Economic Zone, a logistics centre and a data processing centre in Innopolis.

Moreover, it is planned to complete the construction of a two-story building of the cultural centre by this August. 

Minnikhanov was also told about the second construction phase of the Innopolis university campus to accommodate about 2,000 students.

A meeting on the implementation of promising projects in Innopolis held afterwards discussed the construction of new housing and urban infrastructure in Innopolis. It was noted that several companies are interested in the construction of new residential areas, including YIT Kazan, Unistroy, Ak tash and BMP Group.

Khalimov went on to report that it is planned to establish an industrial valley in Innopolis, which will occupy an area of ​​almost 45 hectares by 2025.

The implementation of a number of projects in Innopolis will create a total of about 2,000 new jobs, he added.

According to Minnikhanov, due to projects such as Innopolis, the innovative potential of the country as a whole is growing.
