On July 9, at the Popov Technopark in Innopolis, speaking at a panel discussion with participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and representatives of IT industry, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that Tatarstan has always paid special attention to the development of information technologies and has done a lot for the emergence of a large number of IT companies.
Mishustin emphasized that this meeting is a good opportunity to discuss the development prospects of the industry and increase the contribution of the Russian Federation to the global IT industry. “Today, digital transformation is a chance for our country to reach a higher level of development, to provide our people, Russian citizens, with a new quality of life and a greater volume of opportunities,” he said.
According to Russian Prime Minister, the main task is to ensure that successful digital startups appear in Russia as much as possible, and such companies were inherently Russian in origin.
He emphasized that the Russian IT industry has shown fairly stable growth rates in recent years. This was largely due to previously adopted state support measures. Over the past six years, the demand for domestic software solutions and IT services has increased by almost 50 per cent
The demand for Russian development on the external market for the export of software and, consequently, IT services grew even faster. During this time, it grew by 80 per cent.
