Rustam Minnikhanov gets acquainted with the concept of museum spaces in the Government Agencies of the Kazan Kremlin

On April 18, on the International Day for Monuments and Sites, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Minister of Culture of the republic Irada Ayupova, Aide to Tatarstan President Olesya Baltusova, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Utility Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the Government Agencies of the Kazan Kremlin and got acquainted with the concept of developing museum spaces.

One of the main museum sites is planned to dedicate to the history of the Kazan Kremlin. The historical iconography, models, documentary and archival materials, multimedia installations will be used in the exposition.

On the second floor, Minnikhanov got acquainted with the project of the exposition "Relics of Islam" in honor of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria. The exhibition is aimed at updating the theme of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgarians and emphasize the image of Tatarstan as one of the most important centres of Islamic culture.

In general, the exhibition spaces of the Government Agencies are proposed to be divided into two parts: local (regional) exhibitions and exhibitions with federal and foreign partner museums. The plans include organizing exhibitions of the Volga regions and capital museums. President of the republic also got acquainted with the project for the development of the courtyard area of the building: it is proposed to create a recreation area for tourists here.

Tatarstan President also got acquainted with the concept of development of the House of Ushkova. He had previously visited the mansion and instructed to consider options for the further use of the building. One of the options is to house the building in the original historical style, as well as keep part of the building for excursions. Minnikhanov instructed to carefully study this project, as well as to inspect the facility for further reconstruction work.

He also was presented the new construction projects in the historical centre of Kazan, namely, the new apartment building on Tazi Gizzat street and two projects shopping and hotel complex and a multifunctional hotel-type complex on Peterburgskaya street.
