On 13 July in the Government house of the republic Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the organizing committee in preparing events in the framework of the programme “Kazan-the OIC Youth Capital”, where he said that the programme included a number of international events, and some of them – such as the official inauguration of Kazan as the OIC Youth Capital and the Holy Quran reciters competition were already held successfully.
He said that the most important of the events will be the Global Youth Summit with participation of Ministers of Sports and Youth Affairs of OIC member-countries. “It is a large international event and it is very important for us to organize it at a decent level. This summit should be considered as a large important federal project”, Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs Timur Suleymanov reported that all in all there are 10 international events to be held in Kazan as the OIC Youth Capital in October-December of the current year.
He said that there was also a prepared concept of a documentary about life of modern Muslim youth in Tatarstan. Suleymanov remarked that educational exchanges between Russia and OIC countries in August-November 2022 will strengthen Russia-OIC international cooperation.
Giving details about preparation to the Global Youth Summit with participation of Ministers of Sports and Youth Affairs of OIC member-countries, the Minister said that the event is planned to be held on 27-30 August with participation of 200 delegates from 50 countries, that will include Ministers of Sports and Youth Affairs of OIC member-countries, ambassadors from the OIC countries, heads of international organizations and participants of the Young Diplomats World Forum.
Suleymanov informed that the Global Youth Summit will discuss such topics as youth migration, inter-cultural dialogue, social lifts, youth entrepreneurship and other important issues.
