Tatarstan President meets Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE

On August 31, on the sidelines of the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemistry Forum at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei.

“We see how the United Arab Emirates is developing, we rejoice at your successes and learn a lot from you. Today, the geopolitical situation is difficult. We are grateful to you that the Russian-Emirati relations are preserved and developing dynamically,” Minnikhanov said.

He emphasized that Tatarstan is interested in developing comprehensive cooperation with the UAE. In addition, there is a positive experience of interaction in agro-industrial complex and construction. Emirati holding Tawazun participated in the launch of the Aurus project, a manufacturer of Russian luxury cars. Minnikhanov said that Aurus plant will soon start serial production of Komendant off-road car.

In his turn, Al Mazrouei thanked for the invitation to the forum. He emphasized the growth of cooperation between Russia and the UAE. “The Russian market is very attractive for us, in particular, we are interested in developing cooperation in the oil and gas sector. We also value our ties with Tatarstan. Many Muslims live here - this is very important for us. Cooperation in Islamic finance and halal deserves special attention», the minister said.

According to the results of the first half of the year, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and the UAE reached 14 million US dollars. Such enterprises as KAMAZ Automaker, Kazan Helicopter Plant, Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant named after are developing cooperation.
