Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a meeting of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin with the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafaev

On 19-May at his  meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafaev with participation of  the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the sidelines of the ХIV International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum 2023”, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin  said: “We cherish our brotherly relations with Azerbaijan as they are of long-time strategic character. The tone to such interaction is set by leaders of our countries which are in the close and trust-based communication. We see that our trade turnover is growing and that there many joint companies.” 

In his turn Shahin Mustafayev marked good pace of interaction in trade-economic and investments spheres as active development of industrial cooperation. He also spoke about great potential of developing the inter-regional cooperation, in particular with Tatarstan. 

Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the delegation from Azerbaijan for their visit to Kazan. He emphasized that Tatarstan and Azerbaijan have warm and friendly relations. “We actively work together in all spheres, including the leading companies of the republic. We have complete mutual understanding and support in all issues,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the administration of Azerbaijan for the support rendered to the local Tatar community which comprises about 26 000 people. 

The parties also discussed further strengthening of economic cooperation and interaction in the transport and logistics sphere, including the project of the North-South International Transport Corridor.
